The Team
NICK KOIDL, FOUNDER & CEO
Nick is the founder and Managing Director of Absolute Investment Partners, which he founded in 2010. Nick has ten years’ experience in Asset Management, Hedge Fund, and the Third-Party Fund platform industry. Previously Nick worked with Natixis Investment Bank in various roles, including renewable energy project finance.
Nick has contributed to the successful structuring and development of energy and infrastructure deals, negotiating complex cross-border transactions, as well as guiding transactions through due-diligence, credit and legal stages to financial close. He has closed over 700MW of renewable energy projects.
KOFI OWUSU BEMPAH, BOARD MEMBER
Kofi Owusu Bempah is a Managing Partner at PASH and General Counsel. Kofi focuses on structuring, transaction management and financing and is also the PASH group general counsel. Prior to PASH, he practised law as an international energy and infrastructure lawyer for over 10 years at US firm Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP and Linklaters LLP in London. In private practice he focused on renewable energy, project finance, energy and inf rastructure related transactions, international banking transactions, corporate finance and mergers and acquisitions.
Since 2009, Kofi has closed over 1 GW of renewable energy projects (including acquisitions), working closely with major international lenders and corporate entities on projects all over the world.
MATTHEW RIDDIFORD, PARTNER
Matt worked for ECM, a European Fixed Income Investment Manager; joining the startup in 1999 as Head of Funds Finance. Matt’s responsibilities included the valuation of the funds and the structuring of liability solutions. In 2007, ECM sold a majority stake to Wachovia Corporation, and a year later Matt was given the role of COO of Europe for Wachovia Global Asset Management (WGAM), shortly before Wachovia Corp merged with Wells Fargo & Co.
DANIEL OECHSLIN, PARTNER
Daniel is the owner of GE Venture, which is a technical advisory business based in Switzerland and a Partner of AIP. Based in Bern Switzerland, he is focused on advising companies within Europe, with a specific focus on Spain, Portugal, and Poland. Deriving from machine engineering (PV Cell and Module Manufacturing), Daniel spent years in sales and finance of projects in renewables, mainly PV and Wind. His relations and network to the financing sector, technology manufacturers and the application industry started to connect developers, sponsors and EPC contractors from 2006 onwards. Meanwhile, technology to finance is the central focus of our daily business; Daniel is further responsible for strategy and new markets development.
MARK TATE, PARTNER
Mark Tate has spent 35 years in the financial services industry, 20 years with Nomura Securities Company Ltd., both in the UK and Japan. Proceeded by 2 years at Mitsubishi Bank in London and the last 14 years at ECM Asset Management. He is a graduate of Oxford University.
